This edition of "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" features two well known Chicago entertainment and media personalities.
In-studio celebrity co-host, BILLY McCARTHY, is self-taught musician on drums and classical piano, most notable as a rock drummer (Atlantic recording artists, D'Molls ) and Chicago novelist ("The Devil of Shakespeare"). Billy's newest book, is a memoir -- "Beat Me 'Til I'm Famous" -- which chronicles his journey as a young musician moving from Chicago to Los Angeles in search of rock stardom; including his time with Rodney Dangerfield and family, among other great stories. Tunes are also heard from D'Molls, Holland and others during this program.
The second half of the program features Emmy Award-winning journalist JENNIFFER WEIGEL, a Chicago television and radio personality, turned book author. The daughter of the late Chicago sportscaster Tim Weigel, she has worked at numerous Chicago radio and television station s over the years, and has interviewed and investigated mediums, psychics, and healers for over 20 years.
Weigel's fourth and latest book -- "Psychics, Healers & Mediums: A Journalist, a Road Trip, and Voices from the Other Side"-- provides interviews with some of today’s top mediums, psychics, and healers, including Thomas John, Judith Orloff, Concetta Bertoldi, Caroline Myss, Echo Bodine, Rebecca Rosen, Paul Selig, and Michael Bodine. Weigel hosted a live performance that very evening with "The Manhattan Medium" Thomas John's at The Acorn Theater in Three Oaks, Michigan on September.
