A number of road construction projects are getting underway this week. In Valparaiso, State Road 2 is closed at Horse Prairie Avenue for intersection upgrades, including the installation of left turn lanes, with more closures for culvert replacements scheduled for later this year, along with resurfacing work.

Also watch for lane restrictions on multiple stretches of U.S. 20. Between Indianapolis Boulevard and Cline Avenue, U.S. 20 will be down to one lane with flaggers directing traffic through late June, due to resurfacing work. Bridge construction and painting will have U.S. 20 down to one lane in each direction between County Line Road and Dombey Road, with alternating lane closures under I-94, for about three weeks. Also watch for lane closures near Town of Pines between Ardendale Avenue and County Line Road, due to bridge work over Railroad Avenue.

In Newton County, State Road 10 is closed between County Roads 400 and 450 East for railroad crossing upgrades. It's scheduled to reopen this Saturday.
