Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Inductee and Blues Guitarist Elvin Bishop Guests

Originally aired on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15
GUEST:  ELVIN BISHOP Southern-Blues Guitar Great
The show's musical guest is blues and Southern rock guitarist -- ELVIN BISHOP -- whose career spans over 50 years, having begun his career in Chicago with Junior Wells' in 1962, before joining The Paul Butterfield Blues Band in 1965 and recording three albums with them.
Elvin left Chicago for San Francisco and forged a successful solo career that continues today; along the way playing alongside such greats as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, B.B. King and others.
Today, Elvin is recording for Chicago's ALLIGATOR RECORDS and has enjoyed a rebirth that has included some well-deserved accolades.  His 2014 Alligator album "Can’t Even Do Wrong Right," was Grammy-nominated.  It  also received the Living Blues Awards for "Best Blues Album Of 2014." The title track was named "Blues Song Of The Year."  Making it a trifecta -- The Elvin Bishop Band was named Living Blues' "Band Of The Year."
Elvin was also recently inducted into "The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame" and into "The Blues Hall Of Fame." And his 1975 Top 5 radio hit "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" introduced Elvin to a new audience after being featured in the hit film, "Guardians Of The Galaxy."
Now, Elvin has a new project --- Elvin Bishop’s Big Fun Trio --- that teams him with guitarist/pianist Bob Welsh and percussionist/vocalist Willy Jordan.
Tonight we'll be hearing songs from that "BIG FUN TRIO" album.
