Today:  a conversation with Paul Boardman, one of several candidates who are asking a Republican Party caucus in LaPorte this coming Friday evening to be selected as Mayor for the two-plus years remaining in Blair Milo's term of office.  Milo recently joined the Holcomb administration and stepped down as Mayor.  Boardman talks about his concerns about the economic future of LaPorte and other issues.

We talk with Matt Kinghorn, an analyst with the Indiana University Kelley School of Business' Business Research Center in Bloomington, who is author of a recent review of U.S. Census data of the population of Indiana cities and towns.  Matt talks about the increases and decreases he noted in the report.  Two Lake County communities -- St. John and Winfield -- saw a population increase, while other nearby communities shrank in size.

Lakeshore Public Radio's Steven Lattimore has a report on a fund raising effort this weekend to seek a cure to Crohn's Disease.  He talked to the mother of a young sufferer of the gastrointestinal illness that affects millions.

Indiana Public Broadcasting's Peter Balanon-Rosen visited a summer camp for young people who either have HIV or AIDS or have family members with the virus.  And we revisit our conversation with William Higbie, the president and CEO of the Porter County Foundation, which recently received an award from the Society of Innovators in Northwest Indiana.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
