U.S. House of Representatives

Today:  A conversation with noted Indiana economist, writer and speaker Morton Marcus about his "Eye on the Pie" columns that focus on the Hoosier economy and related issues.

Donna Stuckert from the Porter County Recycling and Waste Reduction District joins us to talk about composting those discarded leaves, pumpkins and gourds from the Halloween decorations at the county's composting operation.  She also talks about the upcoming "America Recycles Day," and the Porter County  Master Recycler program, which is seeking applicants for 2018 classes.

U.S. Congressman Pete Visclosky (D-1) came on the program today to bring us up-to-date on issues on Capitol Hill, including his views about the Trump administration's tax reform plan, as well as steel imports coming into the U.S. and his work on the Congressional Steel Caucus -- and the unanimous vote in the House on his bill making the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore into an official National Park. The measure is now headed to the U.S. Senate.
