IN-STUDIO GUEST:  Guitar Virtuoso MARCO VILLARREAL

Tonight’s edition of  “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges” features in-studio guest MARCO VILLARREAL, an amazingly talented Northwest Indiana guitar virtuoso who began playing at age 15 and has never looked back.

Marco performs a wide array of musical styles and plays or has played with a variety of groups over the years, including — Freek Johnson, The Frank Russell Band, Willie Waldman Projects, and The Steve Hashimoto Quintet, among others.

Marco’s latest project is a musically adventurous and eclectic solo CD — “Ethereal” — showcasing his own original compositions.   “Ethereal” was recorded over a two year period in both Chicago and Los Angeles and Villarreal will celebrate the album’s release with  a trio of live concerts by his new group POLYRHYTHMIC.    The band will perform March 31 and April 1 at Fitzgerald’s Night Club in Berwyn and on April 2 at the Hammond High School Auditorium.   The latter performance on April 2 is a fundraiser for the newly reinstated Hammond High School Band.

Villarreal will discuss a series of upcoming live dates, his career evolution, his influences, and the making of “Ethereal, from which song selections will be featured during this program.
