Information: Rock And Roll Hall of Fame guitarist ELVIN BISHOP returns for another visit to "Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges." This time, Bishop will discuss his collaborative new ALLIGATOR RECORDS album, "100 Years of Blues," recorded with Grammy-winning harmonica maser, Charlie Musselwhite.
Released in Fall of 2020, the two Blues Hall of Famers, took the title from the fact that together they have a combined 100 years of professional musicianship. ALthough friends since the early 1960s, this is the first time the two icons have teamed up to make an album. Along with the interview, several selections from the 12 song collection will be featured during this hour long segment.

GUEST: PETE KOOPMANS -- RED NOT CHILI PEPPERS (LA Tribute Artist)
Information: Pete Koopmans may be a successful Los Angeles-based musician these days, but the flashy drummer for the national touring tribute group, Red NOT Chili Peppers, originally hails from St. John. The Lake County graduate will share some memories of growing up in Northwest Indiana.
As their name suggests, Koopman's tribute group perform faithful treatments of songs by one of rock music's funkiest groups, The Red Hot Chili Peppers. His group are in town to perform an all ages show at the Hobart Art Theatre (230 Main St.) in downtown Hobart, just hours after wrapping his guest spot on this Friday program.

Information: A few weeks ago, Joe Bouchard was a guest on "Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges," and this time its younger brother ALBERT BOUCHARD who will be talking with show host Tom Lounges. Topics will include the brothers' indie label, their colorful career as the co-founders of classic metal group, BLUE OYSTER CULT, and their current band project, BLUE COUPE. Songs from Bouchard's career will be spotlighted during the interview.

Information: As a session and touring keyboardist, MARK MANGOLD, has performed in studio and beyond with some very major names and big stars over the years. Mangold will certainly talk a little about the fabulous career he's had, but this focus will be on his current original band AMERICAN TEARS. Songs will be spotlighted from the group's brand new double album, "Abandoned in the Stranger's Room."

Information: The blues/jazz grooves of THE LAUREN DUKES BAND are starting to catch fire all around the Chicago music scene. The sultry, yet powerful vocals of Ms. Dukes falls somewhere between Billie Holiday and Etta James. Songs from her forthcoming original album will be performed live with the help of her bandmate and lead guitarist, Nic Byrd, himself a well known and respected Midwest performer who has guested solo on this program in the past.

GUEST: GAIL PETERSEN of THE CATHOLIC GIRLS
Information: You might have heard about "The Jersey Boys," but they were sissies compared to the hard rockin' "Jersey gals who hit the stage rockin in their school girl uniforms during the early 1980s. Those chicks with picks and outfits that made men sweat were THE CATHOLIC GIRLS, one of the first all female bands of the New Wave/Pop-Punk Scene. Rhythm guitarist, vocalist and songwriter GAIL PETERSEN were rockin' just a little bit harder than their female counterparts like The Go-Gos, so they never quite fit into the "girl group"mold where the music media and their label (MCA Records) tried to stick them. Sure, they had some pop-driven tunes, but The CG's also created songs that went far beyond.
Music fans who came of age then, will get to relive their mispent youth. Those who missed the era completely will now have the opportunity to discover why The Catholic Girls an important and relevent band of the era, even if they didn't leave behind a string of radio hits.
The Girls are back with a new double CD anthology collection, "ROCK N' ROLL SCHOOL FOR GIRLS," which arrives via JSP Recordsin mid-November 2020 and contains 23 unreleased tracks and 18 remixed tracks. Information: Veteran Northwest Indiana musicial performer and writer PATTI SHAFFNER has created and released this Fall, "Messages For The Heart," an original 14 track spoken word album. This project was created in collaboration with and features stellar musical accompaniment from region mainstays Jef Sarver and David Cowen. Other locally based musicians also lent a hand on the music side of the project during the recording process.

The seasoned radio personality doubles his microphone time after hours as the singer/frontman and band leader of MELLENCOUGAR, a touring tribute group that performs the music -- hits and deep cuts -- of JOHN COUGAR MELLENCAMP. In addtion to the Mellencamp songs, the group has taken to peppering their show with favorites by like-minded, blue collar rockers such as John Fogerty, Tom Petty, Joe Cocker and others.

Information: As is a long running tradition this time of year, TOM LOUNGES ANNUAL TOP 10 REGIONAL ALBUM RELEASES of the year will be revealed. For this program, Tom will play a cut from each of his Top 10 picks of regionally-made releases of the past 14 months. The music columnist for THE TIMES daily newspaper has been doing a radio-version of his annual print feature which names his personal picks as the TOP 10 original music albums of 2020.
