NORTHWEST INDIANA - Gasoline prices are starting to shoot up in Northwest Indiana.  That's according to GasBuddy head of Petroleum Analysis P atrick DeHaan who spoke to Lakeshore Public Radio on Wednesday.  

"Gas prices across most of Northwest Indiana are going up to $2.89 a gallon whereas outside Northwest Indiana, the rest of the state is looking at an increase to $2.79," DeHaan says. "Of course this time of year Northwest Indiana makes the switch to reformulated gasoline whereas the rest of the state doesn't have to so."

NORTHWEST INDIANA - Average retail gasoline prices in Northwest Indiana have risen just under 9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.66/g Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 314 gas outlets in the Region. This compares with the national average that has increased just over 4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.65/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, says this week is basically a continuation of the trend consumers have been seeing for the past couple of weeks.

NORTHWEST INDIANA - Average retail gasoline prices in Northwest Indiana have risen just over five cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.51/g Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 314 gas outlets in Northwest Indiana. This compares with the national average that has increased almost 3 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.54/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

NORTHWEST INDIANA- Average retail gasoline prices in Northwest Indiana have risen just over two cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.46/g Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 314 gas outlets in Northwest Indiana. This compares with the national average that has fallen just over a penny per gallon in the last week to $2.50/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

NORTHWEST INDIANA - Average retail gasoline prices in Northwest Indiana have risen almost three cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.45/g Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 314 gas outlets in Northwest Indiana. This compares with the national average that has fallen just over five cents per gallon in the last week to $2.51/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy on Monday said that prices last week jumped briefly to about $2.49 per gallon and now things are cooling back off.

NORTHWEST INDIANA - Average retail gasoline prices in Northwest Indiana have fallen just over 11 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.44/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 314 gas outlets in Northwest Indiana. This compares with the national average that has fallen almost four cents per gallon in the last week to $2.57/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.com says prices have plummeted nicely and prices declined another three cents per gallon on Monday.

This compares with the national average that has increased almost two cents per gallon in the last week to $2.60/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy said as of Tuesday gasoline prices prices were looking good for the consumer, but consumers shouldn't get too excited.

This compares with the national average that has increased almost 4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.52/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

NORTHWEST INDIANA -  Average retail gasoline prices in Northwest Indiana have risen just under 7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.55/g Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 314 gas outlets in the Region. This compares with the national average that has increased almost half a cent per gallon in the last week to $2.48/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy says the extreme cold weather, that exposed refineries to the elements, is to blame for the price hike.

NORTHWEST INDIANA - Gas Prices are going in the right direction from one week to the next for consumers as we approach Christmas.  That's according to Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.  He says regardless, prices may fluctuate.
