Gov. Eric Holcomb is defending his timeline to hold off on taking significant statewide action on teacher pay raises until 2021, despite calls from teachers to send more funding support to schools in 2020 when lawmakers aren’t likely to open the state budget.

Indiana has lost nearly 8,000 manufacturing jobs through November this year. And some economists say that’s a bad sign for the overall economy.

Gov. Eric Holcomb unveiled his priorities for the 2020 legislative session Tuesday, and one item on his education agenda has been on teachers’ minds for most of this year helping spur protests at the Statehouse – and it isn’t higher pay.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry resigned from office Monday as he continues prostate cancer treatment. He notified Gov. Eric Holcomb of his resignation Monday morning.

Curry announced he has undergone cancer treatment since 2015. After recent developments in his diagnosis, he decided to resign midterm. 

More Indiana youth are vaping than ever before and the state plans to address the issue. 

State and health leaders joined teens from Fishers High School to announce the new three-part initiative.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Republican Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb continues swelling his campaign bank account ahead of the expected formal launch of his re-election bid.

Holcomb's campaign says it collected $1 million at a fundraising event this past week and received a $1 million transfer from Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch's campaign account. That comes as Holcomb's campaign ended 2018 with about $4 million in the bank, with new state campaign reports due in mid-July.

The former state Republican chairman has scheduled a July 13 announcement event at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown.
