Grace Beyond Borders is a non-profit organization located in East Chicago that provides resources and services to the homeless and those impacted by drug addiction. They were recently awarded a grant of $4,000, courtesy of the Legacy Foundation and Foundations of East Chicago to be used to fund a meal bag program for the homeless and food insecure. “Regionally Speaking” host Chris Nolte recently spoke with Marcus Martin the founder of the organization about the mission of the organization and the work it is doing to help end homelessness in northwest Indiana.

Grace Beyond Borders

Grace Beyond Borders NWI is an organization with a mission to offer hope, love and care to the invisible homeless population in Northwest Indiana. On Saturday, August 3rd they will host their 2nd Annual Face of Grace Walk-a-thon to raise funds to continue the work of impacting the lives of those struggling with homelessness, hopelessness and drug addiction. Lakeshore Public Radio’s Dee Dotson recently spoke with Marcus Martin, founder of the organization.

Today:   We have a conversation with Marcus Martin of East Chicago-based "Grace Beyond Borders Northwest Indiana," a non-charitable public organization with a mission to combat homelessness in the Region.  They have a 30-day campaign underway called "A Night Without A Home," where Marcus sleeps with the homeless each night to raise awareness about homelessness and to solicit support for an emergency shelter.
