Today:   On this Reporter's Roundtable, we talk with "Times" education reporter Carley Lanich and her counterpart at the "Post-Tribune," reporter Hannah Reed, about their stories in print and online this week.  We also bring back our conversation with Edgewater Health chief executive Dr. Donita Johnson-Hughes about her recent "op-ed" piece in the "Post-Tribune" entitled "The Pandemic, The Police and Politics."  It is her thoughts on racial disparity, relations between minorities and police, and the political conditions of the day.

Today:  On  this Reporters' Roundtable Thursday, we talk with Carole Carlson with the "Post-Tribune" about her recent stories in print and online. They include comments from the president of Gary Common Council about incidents involging a stolen vehicle (his), some teenagers and an East Chicago police investigation.  Carole also has details on the state Board of Education visit on Wednesday to Gary and some passionately angry Gary residents voicing their conerns about the consdition of public school buildings in the city. Lakeshore Public Radio's Sharon Jackson talks with a recipient of a "Woman of the Year in STEM" award.

Today:  On this "Reporters Roundtable" Thursday we talk to "Times" business reporter Josaeph Pete and "Post-Tribune" education correspondent Hannah Reed about the stories they covered and wrote for print and on-line editions.   Sandwiched in between their remarks, we have a conversation with David Wright with Gary Public Transportation Corp. about the upgrades in public transit and what will be discussed at the Legacy Foundation's next "On The Table" discussion on Sept. 23rd at the Gary Public Library and Cultural Center.  It's an opportunity to speak out about public transportation needs and how they affect issues like "food deserts" and food insecurity.

Today:   On this "Reporters' Roundtable." we ask the "Times'" Dan Carden to talk about his stories from the Indiana Gaming Commission on the Gary casino and sports wagering that take effect this weekend.  We also talked with "Post-Tribune" writer Carole Carlson about her stories on the latest Gary Police Department officer shooting and discussion at the Common Council and the vote on the city and Spectacle Entertainment vote on the casino. "Post-Tribune" sunmer interm Hannah Reed talked about her story on northwest Indiana birth rates and Laheshore Public Radio's Sharon Jsckson had her story about the Ravinia summer concerts.

Today:   On this "Reporters' Roundtable," we talk with "Post-Tribune" reporter Meredith Colias-Pete about the stories she wrote for the print and online editions of the newspaper, including her examination into the costs of bringing so many high-profile speakers into the Region for the Purdue University Northwest's Sinai Forum series this fall.  We also welcome "Post-Tribune" intern journalist Hannah Reed onto the program, to talk about her story on the decline of birth rates in northwest Indiana over the past decade and the factors behind the decline.
