Memorial Day

Today: Bob Wernes is a Cedar Lake man who can’t wait to have a hip replacement surgery. Bob along with his surgeon Dr. Denis Nam join us to talk about how the shelter in place order during the coronavirus pandemic affects patients who urgently need surgical procedures. Memorial Day is an American holiday honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. As we remember those that have sacrificed for our country World War II veteran Eugene Polisnky recently joined us to reflects on his missions over Nazi occupied Germany.

A resolution passed by in the House Monday would honor those killed or injured at work. It would formally recognize April 28 as Workers Memorial Day.

On this Memorial Day Weekend edition of the podcast, we'll hear from Steven Lattimore about a new VFW post in Gary, and Jill Sheridan reports on what the Indy 500 is doing to help organ donors. We'll also hear from Nick Janzen about the conservation of Bison in Indiana, along with John Cain on “Eye On the Arts” about the upcoming performance of Primal Roots.

This edition of “A LOOK AT THE ARTS with Tom Lounges” originally aired on FRIDAY, MAY 26, 2017
