Indiana Prepares For Potential Spread of Coronavirus

The Indiana State Department of Health announced Thursday it has initiated its Pandemic Preparedness and Response Plan in reaction to the global coronavirus outbreak.

A group of scientists at an Indianapolis-based health research center is helping track cases of the new coronavirus.

Taylor University Cancels China Study Abroad Over Coronavirus

Taylor University is the latest US college to cancel a study abroad program in China because of the threat of the Wuhan coronavirus.  As IPR’s Stephanie Wiechmann reports, this was supposed to be the program’s inaugural semester.

The Taylor University business study abroad program was supposed to be headquartered in Xian, which is about 500 miles away from the epicenter of the virus, Wuhan.  But in a statement, Taylor Dean of International Programs Charles Brainer says it is cancelling the program as a precaution.
