BRUCE BORDERS: Elvis Left The Building, But He's Still in "The House"

Mar 13, 2019

This edition of "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" was originally aired on 89.1FM - Lakeshore Public Radio on March 12, 2019.

MUSICAL GUEST:  BRUCE BORDERS - "The Mayor of Rock 'N' Roll"

Doing an impression of Elvis Presley since his teenage years, Indiana State Representative BRUCE BORDERS (R), long ago mastered the craft of shaking his legs, swiveling his hips and curling his lip, while faithfully belting out the songs that once upon a time, turned a Mississippi sharecropper's kid into a king.

Borders has recorded albums and toured internationally in his rhinestone jumpsuits that were created by the very same people who made the iconic bedazzled stage clothes for Elvis himself.

Borders guests on this edition of "Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges" to talk about his long career, which has included being a guest on top talk shows and news programs, being interviewed by the likes of David Letterman and Oprah

Borders continues to tour to exotic tropical vacation spots like the Virgin Islands, the very place where many years ago he met and befriended legendary rock 'n' roll DJ Wolfman Jack.   On this program, Borders shares some stories and memories of "The Wolf," as he calls him, and discusses the 7:00pm March 14 concert he is bringing at The Art Theatre (230 Main St.) in Hobart on March 14, a rockin' fundraiser for the Hobart Republican Party.  More:
